Refining Alloying Kettle 

Lead refining kettle is used for lead refining, to remove impurities inside. The inpurities can be Bi, Ag, Zn, and so on. The final product purity is 99%~99.9%. The dust in the off-gas will be back to reverberatory furnace, so the Pb recover rate is above 98%.

Working principle
  • Cu removal: When the lead bullion is heated to 330~350°C, adding Sulphur or pyriteis to remove Cu as CuS flotation slag;
  • As, Sb, and Sn removal: Air or oxygen is injected into the lead pot to oxidizethe As, Sb, Sn, then the oxides will react with sodium hydroxide, and finally be removed as sodium salt;
  • Ag removal: Zn is added to combine Ag as solid metal compound whose melting point is higher than lead. So we can remove and recover Ag from lead;
  • Zn removal: the main equipment is refining lead pot with closed water cooler which connects with vacuum facilities. When heating under vacuum, the Zn steam will evaporate from lead liquid, and then be cooled into solid Zinc;
  • Bi removal: Ca and Mg are added to combine Bi as solid metal compound which will be separated from lead liquid;
  • Final refining: Air or NaNO3 will be added, then the residual Ca, Mg will form slag, and finally be remove.
